Sacred Heart Chapel

Welcomes you and invites you to celebrate your event at our Historic Chapel... The home for your most Special Occasions.

Quinceañera – Wedding   Anniversary – Funeral Vigil – Funeral Mass – Bible Study.

Built of stately stone, quarried from the nearby San Gabriel Mountains, Sacred Heart Chapel has been the family home of Catholic life in Old Town Covina since 1911.  Now, it can be home to the most treasured occasions of your life.

You’ll celebrate the times of your life before the marble altar, amid rich hand-carved wooden décor and traditional statuary, while a litany of beloved saints, magnificently rendered in stained-glass, gaze lovingly upon your Wedding, Anniversary Mass, Memorial Service, or other special occasion.

Like the great events of your life, Sacred Heart Chapel is intimate and grand, elegant and familiar. Although privately owned, Sacred Heart Chapel is home of the Divine Liturgy of St. Jude Maronite Mission and The Annunciation Melkite Mission. Operating with the permission of the Eparchy of Our Lady of Lebanon and the Eparchy of Newton, this picturesque Church now offers a charming and dignified site for your next special occasion.

Influenced by the American Gothic Revival style, Sacred Heart Chapel was designed and built as a house of worship, complete with arched wooden doors, a high wooden beam ceiling and granite stone lower walls.  You’ll alse find beautifully restored 19th-Century Stations of the Cross, a traditional Baptistry, a tradicional choir loft equipped with a modern sound system, a splendid white marble altar, life-size statues of Our Lord, the Blessed Virgin and Saint Joseph and ten magnificent, original stained-glass windows.

The Times Of Your Life
Since the Chapel’s inception in 1911, Catholic families have celebrate untold thousands of Weddings, Funerals, Baptisms, Quinceañeras, and other religious ceremonies here at Sacred Heart.  In honor of this precious legacy, we stress that these special liturgical celebrations are not performances, but once in a lifetime occasions to worship God with family and friends in a spirit of love and commitment. We realize the importance of these celebrations or solemnities to you and your family, and will do everything possible to help you plan your occasion and make it a truly blessed event.

Wedding, Anniversary Mass, Quinceañera
With accommodations for 220 seated guests, the soft light, white marble altar, rich red carpeting and jewel-toned statined-glass windows of Sacred Heart Chapel provide a rich palette of color as an elegant backdrop for your Wedding, Anniversary Mass, or Quinceañera. The beautiful statue of the Blessed Mother is readily accessible for traditional moments of devotion as the statue of Saint Joseph, patron of brides, stands to the left of the sanctuary where his benevolent gaze welcomes you to the sacred proceedings.

Funerals, Funeral Vigils (Rosaries), Memorial Services
Funeral ceremonies have been an important part of the spiritual and social frameworks of human culture since time immemorial. Although the ceremonies may vary greatly according to customs and belief, they have always shared a common purpose to honor and remember a life that has passed.  Today, more and more families are choosing to personalize memorial ceremonies for those they love. At Sacred Heart Chapel, we are in a unique position to help you fashion a service that honors your departed loved one and meets the needs of family and friends.

Our goal is to help you to celebrate a meaningful, personalized service based upon your family’s unique desires.

Bible Studies, Devotions, Prayer Groups
Many groups conduct Bible studies, pray the Rosary, or perform other devotions, but are unable to do so in a Church setting.  Again, Sacred Heart Chapel is in a unique position to offer you a sacred space for your prayer and study of Sacred Scripture at a modest price that will accommodate the needs of your group.

“I say to you, not seven times but seventy-seven times.”
– Matthew 18: 22.

“In mercy you have seen fit today to show me, poor as I am, how we can in no way pass judgment on other people's intentions. Indeed, by sending people along an endless variety of paths, you give me an example for myself, and for this I thank you.”

~ St. Catherine of Siena (born at Siena, 25 March 1347; died at Rome, 29 April 1380).
